Enrolls in Lincoln High School in Warren, Michigan, a Detroit suburb. 8 Mile is the name of the street that separates

Pens his first rhyme that talks smack about LL Cool J, who’s actually one of his favorite rappers.

Begins making appearances at Detroit’s St. Andrew’s Hall which is located in the back-in-the-day Hip-Hop Shop. He is the
only white rapper.

Releases debut album Infinite but few people notice. Those who do accuse him of ripping off other artists. Those who
don’t accuse him of plagiarism, and mock his little-too-late anti-Gulf War lyrics. He sells about five hundred copies
from the backseat of his car.

Due to the lack of record sales, Marshall gets work as a cook.

You” by Puff Daddy and Faith Evans featuring 112 was the first hip hop single to do so.
